No , aspirant do not require any prior knowledge about any subject even while studying for the first time. NCERT’s are a part of Classroom programme and hence taught during the classes only.

Is is necessary to study humanities in school or graduation?

No , this is not necessary a student of humanities stream will find it easier to study the UPSC – CSE syllabus. Student of any stream can study these subjects. Every concept shall be taught from basic to advance.
